Two-Cents Tuesday!

January 17, 2017

It's AK's Two-Cents Tuesday! Today, my two cents revolves around wedding day timelines. I often get asked, "how do I order the formalities?" (First dance, parent dances, garter/bouquet toss, etc...) If you are not hiring a wedding coordinator who can help you plan, my answer is always this:

Step one: Talk to your venue or caterer. Find out the flow - based on your start time - that works best for them in terms of serving the meal (if it's plated), buffet service, the pouring of the toast, the cutting of the cake, etc....

Step two: Get with your photographer (and videographer). Determine how late he or she (or they) will be staying. Sometimes, if your photographer and/or videographer is starting with you earlier in the day, they may not be there through the duration of your reception. If this is the case, you will want to plan the main formalities prior to their departure. Determine if there will be sunset photos and a grand exit, too. These are critical shots for both!

Step three: Get with your DJ. Let him or her fill in the blanks and pull together the entire agenda with everyone's needs/desires incorporated....including YOURS!

Trust me....getting all the key players involved from the start makes the evening flow so incredibly smooth from start to finish!

Happy planning!
